Bethesda has announced the next Wolfenstein game.

Wolfenstein Youngblood is a two-player co-op game set in 1980s Paris and stars BJ's daughters.

We don't have much else to go on, save Youngblood is coming out in 2019 and it's in development at Machine Games, the studio behind the last few Wolfenstein games.

Here's the official blurb:

"Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a brand-new co-op game unveiled at the Bethesda BE3 Showcase 2018. The game takes place in 1980, 19 years after BJ Blazkowicz ignited the second American Revolution in Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.

"Wolfenstein: Youngblood introduces the next Blazkowicz generation to the fight against the Nazis. Play as one of BJ's twin daughters, Jess and Soph, as you search for your missing father in Nazi-occupied Paris."

It has been a while since we've heard anything about Youngblood but today Bethesda has confirmed a release date for Wolfenstein: Youngblood, the upcoming co-op shooter that was originally announced at E3 last year (and can also be played entirely solo, don’t worry). The game launches on July 26- and it’s also been confirmed that it will be releasing day and date on the Nintendo Switch as well, as has been previously rumoured, and as Bethesda themselves have previously suggested as well.

A new trailer for the game has also been released, which gives us a deeper look at what the setup is going to be. We play as BJ Blazcowicz’s twin daughters, Jess and Soph Blazcowicz, also known as the Terror Twins, in the 1980s. BJ has gone missing, going underground and apparently not wanting to be found, but his daughters have found a lead that suggests their father is in Paris. What ensues is some good old Nazi killing bombastic action. Take a look below.

Along with the release date, a Deluxe Edition for the game was announced and it comes with a Buddy Pass.

This pass allows all who purchase the game to partner up with friend, even if said friend doesn’t own the game. The pass can be granted to one friend at a time, allowing them to download and play Wolfenstein: Youngblood for free, as long as they play with the owner of the Deluxe Edition.

Players using the Buddy Pass can choose to upgrade to the full game at any time.

As well as a Buddy Pass, the Deluxe Edition also comes cosmetic bonuses, including the Cyborg Skin Pack, which turns the Power Suits and weapons into titanium alloy versions.

Here’s what’s in the Cyborg Skin Pack:
  • Cyborg player skin
  • Titanium alloy skins for all weapons
  • Titanium alloy hatchet
  • Titanium alloy knife
  • Armour-boosting pep signal
Pre-order any edition of the game and you will receive additional cosmetic bonuses through the Legacy Pack. Contents of the pack are below.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood Legacy Pack
  • Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Jacket Power Suit
  • B.J.’s US Army Power Suit
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Pipe
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Knife
  • A WW2 Weapon Skin Set for all ranged weapons
It’s worth noting there will be microtransactions, but they are cosmetic only. These items will be available through the in-game store. According to Bethesda, most in-game store offerings can be purchases via currency earned through gameplay. And there won’t be any loot boxes.

I love the Wolfenstein games and I'm looking forward to this one.

The Buddy Pass is something more games should offer.

Looking forward to the latest instalment of this series. Played the last 2 releases of this series on PS4 and it's a great fun action shooter with interesting characters.

Is this an actual sequel to the other 2 games? loved both of them, the buddy pass idea is great.
