Last week, Ubisoft unveiled The Division 2‘s PvP game modes. The dedicated player versus player game modes will be called Conquest and Domination and will resemble the traditional multiplayer gameplay offered by other shooters. However, the developers behind the game already have plans to expand the PvP beyond this.

In a new interview, Tony Sturtzel, the senior producer at The Division 2 developer Red Storm Entertainment, shed more light on the game’s DLC plans. Sturtzel confirmed that there are plans to introduce more PvP game modes as free, post-launch updates. The developer added that the aim of the team is to "ship this game with a few maps uniquely built for the best PvP experiences."

Though, Sturtzel also stressed that The Division 2‘s competitive multiplayer wouldn’t be the only area of the game to benefit from post-launch content updates. Additionally, players of the upcoming shooter can expect to see more "story-driven missions and map expansions." Like the new PvP modes, this story-focused DLC will also be available for free. Sturtzel explains that this is part of the team’s "ongoing commitment to keep our dedicated community energized and playing."

Sturtzel also explains that the team has an "endgame-first mentality." The developer adds that this means that "fans can expect more content drops in the future after completing the campaign." It has already been confirmed that The Division 2‘s story will take players dozens of hours to complete and with side missions, PvP, and post-launch content, players will have more than a few reasons to continue to play the game.

During the interview, Sturtzel did not explicitly state how long it would take the team to add this content. It’s unclear how long the development team(s) would need to assess player feedback and figure out what players would require from new PvP maps. The studio may have some ideas, but it’s not known whether these ideas are in the works or if they are still at the drawing board stage.

IGN released a 20 minute clip following a mission start to finish. Enemies look to go down much quicker this time around, parts get well hectic as well.

Just watched Macrostyles video and while it looks promising it also has some worrying issues at this stage.

Played through the two missions, well one and a half, rescued Eleanor from the Grand Washington Hotel but kept on getting booted out as the second part of the mission started (clear the hotel for exit). Couldn't be bothered trying again after getting booted 3 times.

The game is pretty much the same gameplay as the first one but I miss the snowy backdrop of New York.

I'll probably buy this but I might wait to see what bugs still exist at launch...I remember how bad The Division was when it first launched!!

Might actually go back and play the first one now as I never really gave it the game time it deserved and I'm nowhere near completing it!!

Apparently a ton of people are getting the message "you are banned from division beta". The developers are currently looking into it.

Ubisoft took The Division 2 private beta servers down for some routine maintenance today.

Developer Massive has revealed the fixes applied to the game during this downtime. This means all players will be required to download a small patch, roughly 200mb in size. That said, the developer noted that it may take longer than usual to install on PS4.

The good news is that today’s update fixes the DELTA-3 error players have been running into.

Here’s a full log of changes:
  • Fixed several sources of game server crashes that resulted in DELTA-3 error messages.
  • Audio issues with NPCs in languages other than English have been fixed.
  • PC and PS4 players will not crash upon launching the game when accepting a group invite outside of the game anymore.
