Manchester City caught up with Liverpool last season but I don’t think they’ll be able to do it this season.

Newcastle beat Man United 1-0.

This season is beginning to look a lot like the season when Leicester won the league. Many of the top teams losing games. The only difference is Liverpool are at the top and probably will remain there all season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's time at Old Trafford must surely be close to ending?
Their away record in the league since March does not make for happy reading...

From The Guardian
The Premier League faces losing one of its automatic Champions League spots under proposals being floated by the European Leagues.

Clubs in La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga would also be affected by plans to revert to three guaranteed places, with a fourth club having to go through qualifying, which will be discussed at a European Leagues meeting in London next week.

“I think some of the big leagues would be fine if they are all treated in the same way,” said Lars-Christer Olsson, the organisation’s president. “If you are giving four positions to the Premier League and taking one away from the Bundesliga then you have a problem. The big leagues are prepared to participate in this discussion for something new if they are treated the same.”

The European Leagues also want to scrap historical coefficient payments, a system in which clubs in the Champions League get extra money based on past successes. This season Chelsea will get £27.9m and Spurs £17m in such payments but Olsson believes that those revenues should be redistributed outside the participating clubs to improve competitive balance.

Said it when Laporte got injured, City to light at the back and you don't win a league with a weak defence. Liverpool won't slip up this season

I'd say it's a mixture of Laporte being out, Fernandinho not playing as much (has only played as a CB this season I think?) and Rodri not up to speed yet and then missing the experience of Kompany.

Sheffield United playing decent football and deserve their 1-0 lead.

Pepe missed a pretty handy chance at 0-0, really should've scored to give Arsenal the lead.
